If you are new to Woodlawn, you are invited to a special lunch on February 8 at 12:20.  You may have recently joined the church, or you have started attending Woodlawn in the last year.  This is an opportunity to meet the Woodlawn Ministry Staff and learn more about the core values and purpose of Woodlawn.  

Consider this a personal invitation for you to join The Celebration Choir as we begin working on our Easter Musical “Living Hope”. We will begin Rehearsals on Wednesday February 4th at 6:30 PM. Join us as we kick off the Easter season! We will present “Living Hope” on Sunday, March 29 in both AM services. Come join us as we declare that Jesus is our “Living Hope”.

All families with kids ages 6th grade and under are invited to an evening of service on Wednesday, February 4 at 6:00pm in Fellowship Center. We will have pizza then make encouragement cards for our Night to Shine guests. Night to Shine is a prom for special needs friends. Once we complete the encouragement cards, we will stuff swag bags with prizes and encouragement cards.  We will end with a time of prayer over the swag bags. The men will be coming together for a fellowship on February 1 at 6:00 pm in the Fellowship Center.  One of the goals of Woodlawn is to encourage those that attend Woodlawn to build community among each other.  There will be a short devotion and table discussions at the fellowship that encourages discipleship and fellowship.  We are asking men to bring a pot of chili for this event.  The church will provide the food items that you can add to the chili. The theme for the Women’s Gathering this winter is “Life is Like a Charcuterie Board” based on Psalm 34:8. Andrea Northcut will present the devotion that expresses how God is still good even though we all have different experiences in our lives. Andrea has been a hospital Chaplain for over 20 years and currently serves at Ascension Seton Hays in Kyle Texas.  She has experienced God at work while providing ministry to families and hospital staff.  The gathering will begin with a brunch and after the devotion, here will be table discussions that will follow the theme.  These gatherings provide a time of encouragement and fellowship and good food. 

The women’s ministry is offering a virtual Bible study beginning January 12, 2026.  A women’s Bible study is a great place to find, grow or reignite our faith while getting to know other women in your church community. The group meets online because after a long day of work, parenting, or just life it can be impossible to get ready and be somewhere physically, so come as you are and join us from the comfort of your home.

This is a 7-week study that will meet virtually every other week.  You will buy your independent study book and study each week (5 days) independently over the course of 2 weeks and meet virtually on Google Meets every other Monday to watch a video and discuss the previous week's material.

Join us for a Holiday Brunch at Woodlawn at 10:00AM on December 28.  This will be a potluck brunch.  Bring your favorite breakfast food for this event.  You can bring donuts, kolaches, sausage balls, or any other breakfast finger food that you enjoy.  There will be regular Worship Care during the 9:00AM and 11:11AM Worship services. However, there will be no LifeGroups or childcare during the brunch.

Join us this Christmas Eve, for a special candlelight worship service as we remember and celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  You will hear the Christmas story, worship together, and light candles to remember Jesus as a light to the world.  This is a family event, so all ages are encouraged to attend.  (Childcare will not be provided.) This is one of our most attended worship experiences throughout the year, so you will want to make sure you arrive early.

Join us December 14 for a Christmas Musical during both 9:00AM & 11:11AM Worship Services.

December 11th is the next 55+ luncheon.  We will celebrate the Christmas with a ham lunch and Christmas Gift exchange game.  Signup for a side dish or dessert and bring a WRAPPED gift of no more than $10 in value.  It can be a nice gift, fun gift or gag gift.  Invite a friend and let’s have a fun day.

On December 10, Woodlawn students will come together to celebrate Christmas by throwing Jesus a birthday party! We will enjoy games, food, prizes, and a Christmas story. Invite your friends and come wearing your ugliest Christmas sweater and join the fun as we celebrate Jesus!

Where to Park: 

All parking is free. 

Handicap parking is available in the parking lot on campus and the parking attendants will help you find a space. Make sure to tell them when you enter the parking lot you need handicap parking. 

There is limited parking in the parking lot on campus. The only entrance to the parking lot can be found through the South entrance located on Cactus Lane. 

Additional parking spots can be found in the parking lots at Joslin Elementary School. 

Street parking is available on Cactus Lane, Cimarron Trail, and Pack Saddle. 

There is parking available to the East of Woodlawn across Menchaca Road. There will be constables helping pedestrians cross Menchaca. 

Mark your calendars for November 16 for the Harvest Brunch.  The purpose of the Harvest Brunch is to bring the church together to celebrate all that God has provided for us.  The event will begin at 10AM in place of LifeGroups for that Sunday.  This will allow people from both services to fellowship together.  We are asking people to volunteer to bring casseroles or fruit for brunch.  The church will provide hot biscuits.

We are excited to host the 4th and 5th grade choir from Joslin Elementary School for the entertainment at the 55+ Luncheon.  Food for the day will be your favorite crockpot dish.  We will vote on the favorite pot, and the GOLDEN CROC will be awarded to the winner. Or you can also just bring a side dish or dessert. (Bringing food is not required to attend.)  Lunch will begin at 11:30 and the choir will sing at noon.

On November 8, we are having our Woodlawn Students Friendsgiving event for a fun afternoon of fellowship! We'll start with lunch at the church and then head to WestGate Lanes (2701 W William Cannon Dr. Austin, TX 78745) for some bowling. The cost is $10 per student and covers both food and bowling. Please drop off your student at the church at 11:30AM and pick up from the bowling alley at 2:30PM. We are excited for a great time together!

There will be food, fun, games, and a team costume contest!

Teams will consist of 4 people and will be divided into Middle School League and High School Leagues.

Cost will be $5 per person.

The Men’s Ministry will be preparing a Fish Fry for our next Men’s Fellowship on Sunday, November 2.  Men of all ages are invited to attend this time of fellowship, food, and devotion. There is not a cost for the event, however donations are always welcome. 

On Sunday, November 2 there will be breakfast tacos available for purchase to help raise money for the UT BSM.

All families with kids that are infants through 6th grade are invited for an evening of pumpkin fun! Pumpkins and supplies will be provided for painting or carving for each child that attends! All students (7-12 grade) are invited to stay after church for lunch in Great Hall and The Great Pumpkin Chase! Students will be put in groups to travel around South Austin for an exciting scavenger hunt! Parents will pick up students at Woodlawn at 4:00PM. The Women’s Ministry will be presenting a night of worship on October 20 called “Light in the Lord.”  Join them in the Great Hall as they gather to worship.  The Women’s virtual Bible study will meet after the worship.  If you have not been a part of this study, you can stay and join them for the video study.

Join us after LifeGroups or 11:11 Worship on Sunday, October 19 for a delicious spaghetti plate fundraiser—just $10 a plate! Plates will be picked up in West Hall. All plates will be packaged to go. Do you want to learn what it means to be a leader as a Middle or High schooler? Come join a one day retreat where we will break down what it means to be leaders and then how to put it into practice. Lunch will be provided. 

The Women’s Ministry will be presenting a Women’s Gathering that will include brunch on Saturday, October 18 from 10AM until Noon.  The theme for the meeting is Re-Engage.  The Fall season is a time when we get back into our regular routines and the emphasis for this gathering will be to refocus on our faith in our lives.  Marcy Martinez the Associate Director at the Longhorn Baptist Student Ministries will lead the devotion and then the women will have a time for discussion at their tables. These gatherings provide a time of encouragement and fellowship and good food. 

Attention all High schoolers! On October 13 we will be taking a trip to Six flags Fiesta Texas for a fun filled day! It cost $10 to go and spots are limited, so sign up fast! More details will be coming soon.

All First Graders are invited to participate in our Bible Presentation on Sunday, September 5. First grade is an important steppingstone in each child’s life. Learning to read is one of the milestones that a child will develop in first grade. Our hope is that as a child learns to read, they will develop a love to read God’s word & they will have a strong spiritual foundation for a lifetime. We will recognize all first graders that sign up. All men are invited to the Men’s Fellowship on September 21 at 6PM.  The meal for this event will be Pulled Pork Sandwiches.  At these events, men enjoy good fellowship, a devotion and a discussion on how to live out your faith.  This is also a great opportunity to invite a friend to join in the food and fellowship.  There is no sign-up fee for the event, but you will have an opportunity to make a donation to offset the cost of the food.

Woodlawn will serve college students Lunch at the UT Longhorn Baptist Student Ministries building. The lunch will be lasagna with sides and cookies. Woodlawn needs volunteers to cook lasagnas, prepare and deliver cookies to the church, or go to the BSM on Wednesday and serve lunch. When you sign up to volunteer, you can choose which option you would like to volunteer for.    The church will provide the volunteers with the frozen lasagnas, and they cook them and return to the church on Wednesday morning. All lasagnas and cookies need to be dropped off at the church office by Wednesday, September 24 by 10:00AM. (You can also drop the cookies off on September 23 between 8:00AM and 4:00PM).
