Woodlawn is excited to be an official host church for this year’s Night to Shine, sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation. Night to Shine is an unforgettable worldwide celebration event, centered on God’s love, honoring and valuing people with special needs. On one night, hundreds of churches of different denominations from all over the world will come together to celebrate people ages 14+ with special needs!
If you would like to be a volunteer for Night to Shine, please see volunteer descriptions below and click the button to register. All volunteers must pass a background check and fill out proper forms to serve. All volunteers must attend the volunteer training on Sunday, January 17 at 4:30pm in the Worship Center. There will be a short team meeting following the training.
Buddy Team: Accompany and assist assigned special guest throughout the evening. Sit with your guest during dinner, dance with them and participate in the activities with them. Buddies must be 16 years old or older.
Make Up/Hair/Shoeshine Team: Welcome guest to a salon station for hair or make up or a seat for a shoeshine. Chat with them while you pamper them and make them feel special.
Red Carpet Team: Cheer for the special guests as they walk down the red carpet, help participants in and out of the limos. Help manage the flow of traffic. Bring the energy!
Respite Room Team: Love on the parents/caretakers by serving food, spending time getting to know them, decorating the room and being available to hear their story.
Photography Team: Take photographs and videos and treat the honored guests like VIPs as they arrive on the red carpet, walk by the walk by banner and throughout the night.
Karaoke Team: Setup and participant in Karaoke with the guest. Help the guest choose a song to sing and encourage them in a fun energetic atmosphere.
Participant Food Team: Help setup food, serve food and host the participants as they come through the food line. Help the participants feel comfortable and welcomed.
