Worship Pastor: J.K. Weger

J.K. (a twin) was born in St Petersburg, FL., but 3 years later his family moved to Ft. Worth, Texas.  He officially considers Weatherford, TX, his "hometown."  J.K. was not raised in a Christian, church going home.  However, during his senior year in High School, J.K. accepted Christ as his Savior at North Side Baptist Church in Weatherford.  While pursuing his undergraduate studies, J.K. was called to serve the local church in Full-Time Music and Worship ministry.  He was licensed and ordained to the ministry by Highland Terrace Baptist Church, Greenville, TX.

J.K. began ministry at Woodlawn in June 2009.  During almost 30 years of ministry, J.K. has served 3 churches (Highland Terrace, Greenville; First Baptist, Killeen; First Baptist, Paris) in Texas as a music and worship pastor.  He received his Bachelor's of Music degree from East Texas State University (now, A&M Commerce) and his Master's of Arts in Religious Education degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

 J.K. and his wife of more than 28 years, Jennifer, are happily married.  They have three grown sons: Jordan, Josh, and Jarrod. Jennifer is a Fifth Grade Science and Math teacher.  Her interests include her sons, exercising, swimming, biking and running, and pursuing a closer relationship with Christ.

J.K. and Jennifer enjoy music of all kinds.  They like to read and to watch movies.  Together they enjoy many outdoor activities including: golf, camping, hiking, scuba, hunting, power boating, kayaking, water sports and skiing.  J.K. is a licensed, Single Engine, Private Pilot.  They love Austin and enjoy taking advantage of the sights, sounds and many activities it provides.
