Manchaca Village Kid's Klub-------------------------------------------------------------

Mission Vision Apartment Ministry began in July of 2000 when God led a group of ladies (Jessie Innmon, Terri Blake, Edna Turner, Kathy Israel and Naomi Hubert) to begin a ministry to serve and minister to the residents living in the public housing system. The Housing Authority of the City of Austin owns 19 apartment communities, five of which are located in south Austin.

Currently, volunteers are serving the residents of Manchaca Village. These volunteers are Bob and Linda Pliler, Charles and Diana Isabel, John Fisher, Becky Pinales and Naomi Hubert.  They meet every other Saturday from 1:50pm-3:05pm for Kid's Klub where the children get together for games, crafts and most importantly to learn about Jesus. Other activities include collecting and distributing school supplies and Christmas gifts, learning about missionaries, and various holiday events throughout the year.

Mission Vision Apartment Ministry isn't just about providing activities for children. There are many elderly and people with disabilities who may need transportation and help around their homes. There are many young single parents that may need assistance with childcare, parenting classes or GED tutoring. There are many lonely and depressed people, struggling for a better life, hungry for someone to be a friend. We have so many opportunities to serve.

It is very important that we take every opportunity to minister to these families while we have the chance. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if Mission Vision volunteers had a presence in all the public housing communities?  Please continue to pray for this ministry, the volunteers, but most of all for the families in the public housing system.
